1447680225 2015-09-13 Orphan No Violations Onsite to witness drill/cleanout of orphan well for DOGRM Wood County Inspector Ben Harpster. 8:10 am sign in Stoneco Office and safety training. I followed Operator Tony Kryder and his son to the well site. 8:20am start rig and begin drilling / cleanout. Depth is 92 feet. Rig is a Bucyrus Erie cable tool model 24 using 4 drilling tools. 8:45 am pull tools and run 4 bailer 5 times. Wood fibers are coming out of hole. Tony said only made 8 yesterday. Today they are using a brand new Red Lion trash pump to transfer bailed fluids from dump tub to steel tank. 9:02 am back to drilling- Rig is running 43 strokes per minute on beam.9:38am pull tools and change to a sharper pointed 4 bit. 10:03am back to drilling. 11:15am pull tools and bail 5 times . 11:35 am back to drilling. 34 strokes per minute on motion. Drilling or chasing wood object downhole. 2:30pm relieved by Inspector Ben Harpster. Tony Kryder stated made 120 feet of hole. Ben checked me out at mine office.

At the time of the inspection, the quarry had proceeded mining area just east of where the well is located. The high-wall for the quarry is now less than 30 east of the well. Officials with the Maumee Stone indicated that the mining will continue down from that point, but no closer to the well. They also indicated that prior to the start of plugging operations, they would construct a barrier along the edge of the high-wall as a safety measure for the plugging contractor.
