Approximately 40 barrels had escaped the 100 barrel tank that ruptured. It filled the containment dike. Less than 1 barrel ecaped the dike through a 2 in. pipe that was once used as a dike drain. Free oil had been sucked out of the dike and the tank had been emptied. The crew plans on coming back the next day and digging the contaminated soil out of the dike and collecting the contaminated soil outside of the dike and hauling it to an EPA approved landfill. About 1 barrel of oil is left where it soaked into the soil. |
