0233014194 2017-02-13 Production Wells No Violations I was requested, by George Wertz, representing the Presentation of Our Lord Orthodox Church to confirm the existence of the Eckart # 2 well. The request was generated by a proposed land sale / purchase of a portion of the Churchs property. The Eckart # 2 well was drilled by the cable tool method and reached the total depth of 3659 on 7/21/1962 by the Wiser Oil Company. A previous Status Inspection ( # 485081740, dated 8/3/2011 ) did not reveal any surface expression of previous oil and gas activities at the given GPS coordinates. The RBDMS data base did not list any plugging and abandonment records. Wiser Oil Co. ( listed Operator, now defunct ) reported in FERC filings ( Section 108 ) for the period 9/21/1979 to 12/21/1979 of a daily average of 22 mcf of natural gas production. The last reported production of natural gas was four (4) mcf produced in the year 1990. A review of the ODNR Well Locator indicated the well was previously located 106 north of the northwest corner of the Churchs parking lot. I used the original drilling survey plat map to calculate and confirm this location. Prior to my field inspection I calculated the amount of footage shift when converting X-Y coordinates to GPS coordinates to approximate 175. Utilizing Google Earth historical ( back to 1994 ) I did not identify any area of disturbance surrounding the area of the well spot per ODNR maps. With Google Earth I could see an area of disturbance in the wooded area northwest of the ODNR well spot. This location was approximately 185 northwest of the Well Locator spotting for the well. I conducted a field inspection which revealed a tank ( approximately 70 -80 barrels capacity ) and a two (2) inch pipe standing vertically with a closed two (2) inch valve on top. This vertical piping typically represented a plugging monument denoting the location of the old well. Approximately 20 feet separated the tank and the marker. I did not find any evidence of leakage around the monument. I tested the wa
0485081740 2011-08-03 Production Wells No Violations Nathan Boyce (330-730-6694) requested this inspection to determine if this old well had been plugged and abandoned or was still in production as indicated in RBDMS. The inspection found no wellhead at the lat-long in the system or any tank battery equipment. There is a slight mound off the northwest corner of the parking lot that could have been where the tank battery had been located. There is a heavy brush line west of the well lat-long and could be covering any wellhead equipment. Otherwise, it appears that the well has been plugged and abandoned and all equipment has been removed.
