0615861161 | 2015-01-14 | Urban Drill / Deepen / Reopen | No Violations | I was on location to check the status of the Wildcat drilling the 7.875 hole. The rig switched to drilling on 9.5ppg fluid at 5400 due to the significant gas shows that have occurred. Urban drilling requires the switch to the fluid drilling when significant gas shows are encountered. The rig will drill on fluid until the rig reaches total depth. |
0733401240 | 2015-01-05 | Surface Facility Construction | No Violations | I was on location to check the status of digging the pits. The heavy rain that occurred during the new year holiday has flooded the location. Currently several pumps are pumping the location dry of the fresh water that has accumulated on location. The water will continue to be pumped off location until the location is dry and the pits can be lined. Once this has occurred the rig will drill the mouse hole and start drilling their 22 diameter hole to 120. |
0783401965 | 2015-02-05 | Preliminary Restoration | No Violations | I was on location to check the status of closing the pits. The pits have been fully solidified and dirt has been graded over the location. Full restoration will be completed when the location thaws out and complete dirt work can be completed. |
1367814780 | 2015-01-27 | Preliminary Restoration | No Violations | I was on location to check the status of the closing of the pits for this well. Daley Excavating is on location mixing the pits. Chemtech has brought in 4 loads of solidification materials. The working pit has been solidified, but the blowing pits will need an additional 2 loads of material brought in for solidification. These loads will be brought in tomorrow and solidification will be complete. |
1381896878 | 2015-04-15 | Preliminary Restoration | No Violations | I was on location to check the status of reclaiming this location and preparing it for stimulation. The location is not flooded but is wet at this time. The silt fencing is intact on location and there are no signs of erosion. The well is shut in and a 500bbl tank is on location. Discovery is waiting for the location to be dry before the well will be stimulated. |
1420561061 | 2015-01-06 | Casing String Witnessed | No Violations | I was on location to witness the cementing of the conductor casing. The Wildcat rig drilled a 22 diameter hole to 117 and installed 115 of 16diameter casing. Petroset pumped 365sks of Class A cement with 3% CaCl and .5 lb/sk celloflake. It was displaced with 25bbls of freshwater and circulation was established during the entire job. Cement returns to surface were not obtained. Sakrete was brought onto location and the conductor hole was topped off until the water was displaced and the sakrete was brought to surface. The rig will wait on cement for 8 hours before drilling the 11 diameter hole. |
1420643383 | 2015-01-07 | Urban Drill / Deepen / Reopen | Violations Noted | I was on location to witness the cementing of the 11.75 diameter surface casing for this well. The Wildcat drilling rig drilled a 14.75 diameter hole to 462 and installed 445 of 11.75 diameter casing into the wellbore with 4 centralizers. At 9:30am, while the drilling rig was circulating the casing bottoms up with the mud pump using fluid from the drilling pits to condition the hole for cementing the surface casing, I took a sample of the fluid circulating through the casing and from the borehole. I field tested the sample using a Hach Quantab, bottle #4190, and the chloride level was above the detection range of the Quantab (over 6396 ppm). I also field tested the pH with a test strip, and noted a pH of approximately 9.0. I contacted Regional Supervisor Tom Hill to discuss my findings. Discovery Oil and Gas was allowed to cement the surface casing as soon as possible and use the Class A cement to displace the brine out of the hole. Petroset pumped 340sks of Class A with 3% CaCl and 0.5 lb/sk celloflake. The cement slurry was displaced with 52bbls of water, and 10bbls of cement returned to surface. The rig will wait on cement 8 hours before drilling the 11 diameter hole. Surface holes drilled into the USDW (underground source of drinking water) shall only be drilled on air, fresh water or freshwater based mud, per OAC 1501:9-1-08(C)(1). Consequently, a compliance notice is issued under ORC 1509.22(A). The samples taken of the circulating fluid have been submitted to the ODNR Environmental Laboratory for analysis. |
1421084373 | 2015-01-08 | Casing String Witnessed | No Violations | I was on location to witness the cementing of the intermediate casing. The Wildcat drilling rig drilled a 11 diameter hole to 1045 and installed 1025 of 8.625 diameter casing with 6 centralizers. Petroset pumped 335sks of Class A cement with 3% CaCl and .5 lb/sk celloflake. It was displaced with 63bbls of freshwater and 8bbls of cement were returned to surface. The rig will wait on cement for 8 hours before drilling the 7.875 diameter hole. |
1421938080 | 2015-01-17 | Casing String Witnessed | No Violations | I was on location to witness the cementing of the 4.5 diameter production casing. Wildcat drilled a 7.875 diameter hole to a depth of 7025 and installed 7011 of 11.6 lb/ft 4.5 diameter casing to 7011. A two stage DV tool was installed in the casing at 4456 and 30 centralizers were installed on the casing. For stage 1 Universal pumped a lead cement slurry of 200sks Unipro 171 and a 150sk slurry of Special Rose Run Cement. The cement was displaced with 108bbls of brine. The bomb was dropped to open the 2 stage DV tool and waited on for 30 min for it to engage. The DV tool was pressured up to 1500psi to open the ports. For stage 2 Universal pumped a 300sk 50/50 poz cement slurry with 2% gel, 10% salt, .5% TI-2, .5% CFL-2. The cement was displaced with 69bbls of brine. The Wildcat rig will be heading to the yard to have work completed on it. |
