0342240763 2015-10-14 Orphan No Violations At the time of the inspection the fluid level inside the riser was approximately 2 from the top of the riser and bubbling small amounts of gas. This represents a 1 change from the previous inspection on 8/19/2015. There was some new oil pooling around the well and some of the soil around the riser is saturated with oil. Some peat moss was spread on location to soak up the pooling oil. The riser was pumped out in July of 2015 and levels will continue to be monitored until the well can be plugged.
0468084097 2014-07-21 Production Wells No Violations At the time of the inspection the well was still leaking gas and a small amount of oil. The fluid level inside the riser has risen to 5 10 below the top of the riser and 2 10 below grade with some bubbling gas in the fluid. The LEL level inside the riser was at 15, however no gas at any level was detected outside the riser. The well is being referred to the Orphan Well Program.

1437411403 2015-06-29 Orphan No Violations At the time of the inspection the fluid level inside the riser has risen to 13 below the top of the riser and continues to rise from previous inspections. The fluid appears to be mostly oil and is still bubbling with natural gas though no levels were detected on the gas detector due to windy conditions. A 50 square feet area around the well was spotted with pooling oil sitting on top of puddles from recent rains and the soil on the southwest side of the riser is saturated with oil. The landowner, Mr. Auxter, put a 15 long by 2 wide by 3 tall berm to prevent any oil from reaching his bean field. Peat moss was spread on location to soak up the pooling oil and the well will be monitored until the riser can be emptied.

1459971415 2014-07-09 Production Wells No Violations At the time of the inspection the landowner, John Auxter, was on location with a small track hoe to excavate an area believed to have a historic producing well in the Northeast corner of his field. The was a small spot of oil and water above the suspected location. Upon excavation, a well having 8 conductor casing, 6 surface casing, tubing, and rods was discovered. The well was cut off flush about 3 below grade and an unknown amount of cement was put inside the annulus and inside the 6. The tubing and rods can be seen flush with the cement at the top of the 6. Gas and oil are leaking from between the cement and the inside wall of the 6 casing. A corrugated tile riser was placed over the well and the remaining hole was filled in. This well will be monitored and referred to the Orphan Well Program.
1476383610 2016-10-13 Orphan No Violations At the time of the inspection the fluid level inside the 12 diameter corrugated plastic riser was at 11 below ground level. The fluid in the riser appears to be mostly oil and has gas bubbling from it at an unknown rate. A Lower Explosive Limit (LEL) of 11% was detected inside the riser using the state issued Sperian PhD 6 gas detector. A small amount of oil continues to pool around the outside of the riser due to saturated soil. The saturated soil around the riser is a result of oil leaking from around the bottom of the riser and moving to the surface. A 2.2 cubic foot bale of Peat Moss was spread around the location to soak up any oil currently outside the riser. The soybeans planted around the well have been harvested and is not currently planted with a winter crop.
1544253075 2016-02-03 Orphan No Violations At the time of my inspection the fluid level inside the corrugated riser was approximately 3 from the top of the riser and bubbling small amounts of gas. This represents a 1 drop from the previous inspection on 10/14/2015. The top of this riser is 4 above ground level. There is some new oil pooling around the well and some of the soil around the riser is saturated with oil. Peat-Sorb was applied around the well to soak up the pooling oil. The riser was pumped out in July of 2015 and levels will continue to be monitored until the well can be plugged.

A crew from Second Oil Company was on location to pump the fliud from the riser into a mobile tank and hauled off location. This well is under review for an Emergency Orphan Well Plugging Contract and will be monitored by the inspector and the landowner until the well is plugged.
