1104955002 2017-02-23 UrbanProduction Wells No Violations I was on location to follow-up on an oil release that occurred on 2/18/17. The plunger lubricator and valve have been replaced and the fencing has been reinstalled. The required ID is posted on the fencing. I walked the location and found no evidence of free oil in the scraped area or in the Biosorb treated grass. The stockpiled topsoil and grass is covered and contained. The affected material will be removed when it dries out more. I will continue to monitor this location for any issues. I found no violations at this time.
1489157459 2017-02-21 UrbanProduction Wells No Violations I was on location to follow-up on an oil release (4 barrels) that was reported on 2/18/2017 and occurred in an agricultural field owned by the city of Aurora. Scott Miller Contracting (SMC) responded on 2/20/2017 to begin remedial and clean-up operations. I was on location this morning with SMC to assess the release and observe clean-up operations. The release was caused when the plunger lubricator and 2 flanged Balon valve separated from the 2.375 production tubing at the threads. The separation caused the oil to spray just under one (1) acre of grass to the north and east. An area of heavier saturation, measuring 150 X 120, was scraped and stockpiled for removal in a lined containment area east of the wellhead. The remainder of the area that was misted with oil was mowed and Biosorb was sprayed over the affected area for in-situ remediation. The stockpiled material was covered and will be disposed of at the Kimble landfill at a later date. I will continue to monitor the location.
