1396839725 2019-03-26 Orphan No Violations I received a phone call today from landowner Nick Milano about this well on his property. I went out to do a field inspection and found this well is already in the idle orphan program. I will contact inspector Lynn Parkins to see if I can get an update on it for Mr. Milano.
1481219932 2016-12-07 Orphan No Violations Orphan well investigation, accompanied by Inspector Kip Thompson: Upon inspection, it is observed that this well is idle, incapable of production, and appears to be plugged. The well consists of 8.625 outside diameter casing sticking up 24 above ground level. The casing is open to the atmosphere and is full of debris and/or clay plugging material to surface. Some fluid is present inside the casing on top of the debris. There is a black locust post shoved in the well which was once used as an electrical pole on the property. RBDMS records for the well indicate it was plugged and abandoned with prepared clay on 7-2-1968, however the casing was never cut off below ground level. The well is not leaking oil, gas, or brine. The well is located in an open pasture field with no overhead or buried utilities to obstruct access. The landowner, Mr. Nick Milano, indicated to Inspector Thompson that he would be interested in having the well plugged if it has not been already. If the well is determined to be plugged, it may be a candidate to be cut off 30 below ground level, placarded, and buried. The Site Evaluation Matrix score for the well is 116. Photos were taken.
