The Quantab was maxed out. The fluid has over 6078 ppm Cl. The brine has contaminated an 8 by 10 area beside the dumpster. I talked to Wes Harmon about the leaking brine from the filter socks that were placed in the dumpster. The contaminated soil must be removed and taken to an EPA approved landfill. |

I gave the truck drivers a copy of 1509.222 and 1509.223. and explained to them that they must be registered brine haulers to dispose at a class 2 injection well facility in Ohio. The Green Hunter crew turned the three trucks away with out unloading them. |

A 2 inch union on the injection line at the well site is seeping brine, salt build up is on the fitting. Repair the leaking union. The 1/4 inch needle valve on the injection tubing is corroded and must be replaced. A 10 foot by 19 foot area outside the containment has been contaminated with brine and oil residue. A brine and oil mist has sprayed out from the top of the tank. A field test of the soil with High Range Quantab revealed 1310 ppm Cl. Remove all contaminated soil and dispose of it at an EPA approved landfill. Wes Harmon and the Fountain Quail crew were notified of the issues in the field. A 500 barrel frac tank was placed beside the brine transfer pump house and is in a shallow 11.5 inch plastic containment. This 500 barrel tank is not approved by the ODNR- DOGRM UIC Section for use. |
