The area between the concrete dike wall and the 4 inch PVC unloading pad drain line has not been excavated. Butch Barton was contacted by phone to discuss the field tests and the need to remove all contaminated material.

A screw in plug was placed in the end of the 4 inch PVC unload pad drain. The unload pad drain box was then filled with fresh water and green dye to the surface of the concrete unloading pad. The green water seeped out of the unload pad drain box and flowed down slope into the existing remediation area, outside of the containment dike. The unloading pad is not to be used until the contaminated material has been removed and a new drain has been installed for the unloading pad.

Identification is posted on tank. The 400 barrel knock out tank has overflowed and splashed brine out of the containment. Two areas down slope of the knock out tank and the unloading pad are contaminated. 1st. Area 33 feet by 6 feet. 2nd area 24 feet by 4 feet. The brine is on the surface in pools. The brine was tested in the field with High Range Quantabs. The Quantabs were maxed out at over 6620 ppm Cl. I contacted Jonathan Reese and he came out to the location along with Tom Schoonover and Butch Barton. I showed Butch Barton the areas that are contaminated. The contaminated soil must be excavated and disposed of at an EPA approved landfill. There are pockets of oil and brine in the containment dike, The dike needs to be kept free of oil and brine.
