0530740875 2018-07-12 Production Wells No Violations The tank that failed is still in place, it is not being used but still there. The tank will need removed. A small amount of oil about 2 cups has came out of the black piece of corrogated 4 plastic by the end of the driveway. The company has noticed and put out several absorbant pads. The bottom where the spill terminated looks good and vegetation is starting to growback. I will stop at American Natural Gass shop and discuss the next steps.
1333754500 2018-08-09 Production Wells No Violations The dike was remediated and a new tank was placed in the dike and plumbed up. The ditch line was now overgrown with weeds. The bottom where the release spread out and stopped is all grown up with vegetation. The violation is resolved.
1530879833 2018-07-06 Production Wells No Violations Inspection of road ditch found a very small amount of oil near the last siphon dam, in front of booms and oil absorbent pads. They removed the tree by the tank battery and mulched the area where the oil originally entered the road ditch. The bottom siphon dam was overrun by water at some point but no oil was found in the field. There were a few spots of sheen but no free-standing oil found anywhere in the field. New absorbent pads have been put down indicative of company closely monitoring the location.

1933337332 2018-06-27 Production Wells No Violations I went to check on the status of the cleanup and how the siphon dams held up to a pretty significant rain event the previous night. Before I left on Monday I asked them to make the bottom siphon dam larger and install 2-3 inch pipes to carry more water. I arrived to see the siphon dams still in place with 2-3 inch pipes installed and a deeper dike built. There was no free oil in the bottom where the water fanned out into the field and there was clean oil absorbent pads on the siphon dam. The top was all free of oil except for a skiff of oil that was breaking down in the road side ditch behind a boom and a siphon dam. There was a back hoe on location to help install a new 100 barrel tank. I took pictures.
1978201321 2018-06-25 Production Wells No Violations When I arrived the road ditch was free of oil. I went down to the bottom where I had them construct an overflow/siphon dam. There was still some oil coming out of the wooded area. That is to be expected the bulk of the effort was focused from the tank battery to the road ditch culvert and the bottom where it ended yesterday. Yesterday they placed oilsorb on the numerous little puddles in the field to soak up and contain the oil. They decided to flush the wooded area to clean it and started by the driveway where the oil entered the road ditch. They used 3-55 gallon drums of fresh water to flush this with. They poured the water uphill of the driveway. This flushed oil out into the road ditch. They then installed 3 subsequent siphon dams. One at the driveway, one where the road ditch started and one before the culvert. They then proceeded to clean the road ditch again. They continued to flush the uphill area. To push the rest of the trapped oil out. They then flushed the wooded area after the culvert to push the oil to the final siphon dam. They flushed this area three times using the excess water from the vac truck and had two guys using brooms and shovels to move the oil. They plan on continuing to monitor the areas at least twice a day until it is safe to remove oil absorbent pads and booms.
2072288483 2018-07-02 Production Wells No Violations The siphon dams are still in place and clearly being monitored. There was no free oil in the field. There was only a few small sheens on the water in the ditch. The tank is still seeping oil from the bottom that is being caught in a hole that was dug to contain it. The tank will need removed and a dike built around the tank.
2122894126 2018-06-24 Production Wells Violations Noted I was called out for an oil release. The tank bottom leaked and ran oil into a road ditch. The oil in the ditch traveled about 200 feet in the road ditch and then went through a culvert. It then ran about 450 feet into a wooded section where the water runs into the railroad culvert. It ran about 40 feet under the railroad bed and into a field where it fanned out in an area of 75 feet by 100 feet. Cleanup has already began.
