1137835491 2014-05-22 Production Wells No Violations Inspected production well on 05/22/2014. The tank battery consists of 3-210 bbl steel tanks, 3-vertical separators, and an underground brine vault located within an earthen dike. The diked area is located within a locked metal fence. The tank battery is used by multiple wells; identification is clearly displayed for all wells utilizing it. The well is equipped with a pump jack with an electric motor located within a locked metal fence. Well identification is posted at the wellhead. Paraffin was noted on the ground around the wellhead and will need to be cleaned up. Pat Ervin with Viking Resources was notified of this issue and will address it as soon as possible. No other problems were noted at the time of the inspection.
1362599846 2013-03-05 Production Wells No Violations I inspected this well and found one pump jack with an electric motor on the wellhead. I could not determine the pressure on the casing or on the tubing as there were no gauges installed on either. There was a residential type gas meter with a regulator installed on the casing and was supplying gas to a nearby house. No leaks were observed on the wellhead or on the adjacent piping and the area around the well was nicely maintained. The wellhead and pump jack were enclosed with a steel chain link barbed wire fence with a locked gate. A small identification sign was posted on the front section of the fence. At the time of my inspection, the pump jack motor was running, but the pulley belt was broken and the pump jack was not able to operate properly. I contacted the pumper for Viking Resources, Jeff Burcher, and advised him of the situation. He advised me that the well only pumps for two hours per day and the motor should time out soon. He thanked me and advised he will be out in the morning to install a new belt. The tank battery contained three 210 bbl. steel oil storage tanks, one in ground concrete brine storage tank, three vertical oil and gas separator units, three gas sales runs each with an enclosed gas sales chart recorder and three drip assemblies. The proper identification signage was posted on the steel tanks and no visible leaks were seen on the tanks or on piping within the tank battery. The dike was in good shape and the area within and around the tank battery was well maintained. The entire tank battery was enclosed with a steel chain link barbed wire fence with a locked access gate. A 10 ft. X 16 ft. skid mounted steel storage shed was located on the north side of the tank battery just outside of the fence. It was determined that this tank battery also houses production equipment for the Niehaus # 1 well and the Hood #4 well.
