1271167797 | 2010-04-13 | Storage Well | No Violations | Called by Dave Mesar at 6395 Smith Rd. Medina, Ohio 44256,to investigate well status and ownership. Well is owned by Columbia Gas Transmission. It is an underground storage well for gas. Stored in the Clinton sandstone. In 2009 Columbia Gas Transmission came in and rehabilitated the well. The well was drilled deeper in the Clinton sandstone and into the Medina red shale. New 3 casing was installed in Clinton for injection of gas. Surface casing was pulled and new casing installed and cemented to surface. Columbia Gas Transmission is mailing the cement reports to Uniontown office. I gathered well records for Dave Mesar. Columbia has supplied Mr. Mesar a new tap for gas to his home. It is not free gas due to the free gas goes to the original farm house. The farm was lotted off several homes have been built around well. Well is shut in at this time for line construction. Cloudy, 45 degrees. |

The complaint was received on 7/7 and Norburt Lowder responded. During service work on this well, surface equipment (oil saver) failed and approximately 1 to 2 gallon of oil sprayed onto the grass covered ground east of the well. The grass has apparently been cut on a regular basis. The impacted area was approximately 30 by 40. The company responded with sorbent pads and a bag mower. The affected grass was cut, bagged and removed. On 7/8 I saw no evidence of any oil on the grass or the underlying surface. I will delay closing the complaint until the grass shows no ill effects of the spray. |
