Inspections Performed

Inspection ID Inspection Date Inspection Type Inspection Result Inspection Comments
2065497734 2014-09-25 Orphan No Violations On the date of inspection I was accompanied by SE District Supervisor Brent Bear and Jason Hurst of Access Midstream to document the orphan well adjacent to the Cardinal Gas Services (Access Midstream) compressor station. I witnessed 12 inch inside diameter wooden conductor casing that is in poor condition at the surface. At the time of inspection I did not detect any gas or oil leaking. Fluid was present at approximately 3 feet below ground surface. The fluid did not appear to contain oil and did not have a hydrocarbon odor. A pipeline right-of-way is located approximately 10 feet to the north of the well. According to Jason Hurst there are currently two pipelines buried 10 feet below grade and a third pipeline would be installed this winter. A Call Before You Dig will need to be made before any work will be done on the well. A small stream containing iron precipitate is located approximately 50 feet to the north east of the well. Oilfield debris has been found near the well and surrounding area. Most of the wooden structures have been mulched but there may be more debris located in the surrounding woods. The property is owned by Cardinal Well Service. Jason Hurst was able to interview a member of the family who historically owned the property. The family member informed him that there could be 5 possible wells in the area and that the family had regularly dropped rocks down into the well. The entry latitude and longitude provided is one possible rig entry.
