1465484647 2016-06-09 Orphan No Violations I inspected this well location pursuant to an inquiry from representatives and contractors working for Rite Aid. At the time of this inquiry, renovation work is under way at this retail drug store location. The Rite Aid reps have asked about future management and how best to maintain the well. I observed the following: a wellhead with 6 to 2 reducer swage to a 2-inch diameter passive vent line. The well was located within a 30-inch diameter pre-cast concrete vault with a round, 4-bolt lid. The vent line exited the vault via a side-mount penetration. At the time of this inpsection, the vault interior was dry and free from any signs of problems or leakage of fluids or gas. There were no gas odors or meter-detectable gas readings. An attempt was made to investigate the location of an external terminus of the inferred vent line but none could be found. I advised that a venting gases near or into the building interior could be hazardous and that attempts should be made to locate vent.
