1136864420 2014-09-03 Orphan No Violations I inspected this former well location at the request of a party in a property transaction. According to records, the well was plugged and abandoned on 2/26/1992. At the time of my inspection, I observed a 3-inch diameter steel vent stack at the location of the former well. The stack riser extends vertically 12 to 15 above existing grade. I did not note any gas smell or other evidence of active venting. The area around the former well location is comprised of a rolling undeveloped plot with mature, deciduous vegetation and trees.
1453751283 2016-01-25 Orphan No Violations I inspected this well location, as a follow-up to a previous inspection. At the time of this inspection, the location of the well is comprised of a densely wooded, low-lying parcel located at the SE corner of the Columbia Road and I-90 interchange. The only surface expression of the well is a 3-inch diameter steel vent stack riser. At the time of this inspection, I removed the plug in the monitoring port on the vent and measured gas readings >100% LEL within the vent. I did not observe any gas odors or meter-detectable gas in the well area. The is no evidence of a vault structure at the base of the vent stack.
