0851333711 | 2016-10-17 | Production Wells | No Violations | The purpose of my inspection was to conduct a status check on well # 2-1117. A review of RBDMS indicates the operator is current with reporting production. Lease access to the well head and tank battery is stable and drivable. The well location remains stable with well-established vegetation. The 8.625 surface casing is below grade at this location. 4.5 production casing is fitted with a plunger lift assembly. Production valves were in the closed position. No audible or visual leaks were detected. A domestic supply connection is present. Production equipment is contained within an earthen dike that is stable and sufficient for containment. Within the dike, production equipment consists of one (1) horizontal separator, one (1) 210 bbl production tank and one (1) 40 bbl poly brine tank. Minimum spacing requirements are met. The horizontal separator was in good repair with minor surface corrosion. No audible or visual leaks were detected. The production chart in the meter house was expired and marked shut in. The production tank contained correct and legible identification that was slightly faded on the tank body. The tank body exhibited minor exterior corrosion. No holes or leaks were detected. The load line valve was closed and plugged. The brine drain valve was closed and plumbed to the poly brine tank. The hatch lid was closed. The poly brine tank was not in good repair. A crack in the body of the tank approximately six inches long was observed near its bottom. The tank was empty and no evidence of discharge, collection or migration of production fluid within the containment area existed. The inlet valve to the tank was in the closed position. I spoke with Mr. Bob Foltz on 10/27/2016 concerning the faded identification and crack in the brine tank. Mr. Foltz stated he would get the identification updated immediately and that the tank would be either repaired or replaced once the well was scheduled to be placed back in production and operat |
