0993159391 2017-05-18 Orphan No Violations Mrs. Conacher and her husband (deceased) bought their home over 40 years ago. A gas well was on the property and connected to a hot water heater in the basement. Mrs. Conacher stated the well never made enough gas to run the hot water heater. She thinks her husband may have put a gas line in the yard that was connected to the well. She does not know the depth or any other information on the well. The well was found buried approximately one foot under ground, underneath a truck bed cover, approximately 75 feet northwest of the house in an overgrown area of the yard. The well is equipped with 6.7 inch diameter steel casing. 1.75 inch steel tubing (or a fitting) equipped with a closed valve extends from the well. The dirt will need removed better from the well to determine if this tubing (or fitting) extends from a well cap or if cement has been poured around the tubing/fitting. A steel line is connected from the tubing/fitting past the closed valve. This line goes into the ground. A vertical galvanized pipe, similar to a water line, comes out of the ground approximately 40 feet east of the well next to a junk pile. A slight gas odor is evident near the well. My gas detector did not detect any measurable amounts of gas near the well. The Division does not have any record of this well and it is not shown of the Ohio Fuel Gas map. The above permit number was assigned for tracking purposes. Mrs. Conacher is planning on selling the house and would like to apply to the Orphan Well Program for possible plugging. Her phone number is 440-361-9505.
