1553609213 2019-03-26 Production Wells No Violations I conducted a complaint check on a possible flow line gas leak. At the time of my inspection there was a possible flow line or sales line crossing the stream in line. Undetermined do to murky water. There was bubbling coming out of water from the stream. Flow line was in line with a residence. There was a historical well number 60350, approximately 500 feet north east of flow line. The well consisted of well casing do to safety while entering in vault. There is a disconnected pipe or tubing coming out of the top of well. A second line with a closed valve appears to come from off the casing. A third disconnected line is coming up through the water. Gas is bubbling through the standing water. There is a 4 x 4 underground brick or cement vault. Water has infiltrated the vault and prohibits close inspection of the well.
1660488039 2016-06-06 Orphan No Violations Mr. Ron Kroposki contacted the Division on 4/18/2016, complaint ID 5323, requesting an old gas well located on the prior Ashtabula Country Club property be considered for plugging through the Orphan Well Program. The property where the well is located was formerly a country club and golf course. The Country Club was sold to Members Group LLC in 2005 and became the Harbor Golf Club. The golf course is now closed. Mr. Kroposki is a partner in the Members Group and lives on property he owns adjacent to the golf course. Mr. Kroposki bought his house in 1983 and a domestic gas line for his house was connected to this well on the adjoining golf course at that time. He stated he never worked on the well or owned the well but used it until 15 years ago. He did put a new regulator at his house when he was using the gas from the well. His deed does not mention the well. The deed for the adjoining golf course owned by Members Group LLC does refer to a prior deed exhibit from 1924 that mentions a well. This document gave Ashtabula Realty Company the right to use the well for 25 years when they sold the property to the Ashtabula County Club. My inspection today of the well showed the well is located within the closed golf course near hole 14 inside a 4 x 4 underground brick or cement vault. Water has infiltrated the vault and prohibits close inspection of the well. The top of the well is 30 from ground level. Approximately 6 of the well is visible above the water. The visible casing may be 4 but cannot be measured without entering the vault. It is possible that a larger diameter casing that is not visible is present. A disconnected line is coming from the top of the well. This line may be a fitting or tubing and is equipped with a closed valve and pressure gauge. A second line with a closed valve appears to come from off of the casing. A third disconnected line is coming up through the water. Gas is bubbling through the standing water . My Sperian gas detector measured 3% LEL/0
