1096533575 2018-03-01 Production Wells Violations Noted I inspected this well pursuant to Chiefs Order #2016-300 issued for lack of insurance. The well and associated battery are located on a rural farm parcel. At the time of this inspection, I noted the following: a wellhead with pump jack system in a wooded clearing. The pump was idle. The flow-line connections were disconnected, with the exception of a flexible domestic line that remained intact and open. The associated tank battery was comprised of two 100-barrel production tanks, one 50-barrel plastic brine tank, and horizontal separator. One of the production tanks had several rust holes that completely perforated the sidewall rendering the tank unfit for use. I also noted some oil that had accumulated in the tank battery gravel ballast material from a prior spill or release. There did not appear to have been any efforts to remediate the spill. There were no signs that the well was being produced. There was no legible identification or signage. There remained no active insurance. The owner must begin action to remediate the oil spill as soon as possible and complete remedial activity within 30 days of this notice. Contact Inspector Stephen Tompkins with any questions about this compliance notice.

2030081896 2018-10-01 Production Wells No Violations I conducted an compliance notice follow-up for compliance notice 1096533575. At the time of this inspection, the well was equipped with a pumping unit. The pumping unit was not attached to the rods and was idle. The 2 inch flow-line connections was disconnected from the well. There was a 1 inch poly line plumbed off of the 4.5 inch casing with a regulator and open valve. The associated tank battery still consisted of two, 100BBL production tanks, one 50BBL plastic brine tank, and horizontal separator. The tank with the holes on the side had not been removed. The previously impacted stone/soil medium within the tank battery has not been remediated. No legible identification had been added to the well site.

Big Sky needs to: 1) Remove the 100 BBL tank with holes on the side. 2) Cleanup and remediate oil impacted area within the tank battery 3) Install legible identification
