Inspections Performed

Inspection ID Inspection Date Inspection Type Inspection Result Inspection Comments
0682322810 2015-05-26 Production Wells No Violations At the time of the inspection the water level inside the riser placed on 4-29-2015 was static at about 10 above ground level. The surface of the water inside the riser was still, indicating the water flow from inside the 6 casing had stopped. The area of pooled water around the well from the previous inspection on 5-21-2015 had dried up and the bentonite seal between the well and the riser appears to be holding the water in the riser.
1432835581 2015-05-21 Production Wells No Violations At the time of the inspection the well was still flowing water from inside the 6 casing. The water was then leaking out the annular space between the well and the 12 plastic riser placed on 4-29-2015. The water was pooling in a 7 x 12 area around the well. A small hole was dug by hand next to the well that allowed the existing water to be removed from inside the riser without disturbing the well or riser. The hole quickly drained and granular bentonite was poured in the annular space between the 8 conductor casing and the 12 plastic riser. This bentonite quickly expanded and sealed the annulus, trapping the water in the riser, and stopping water from leaking into the surrounding soil. A follow-up inspection will need conducted to determine if the bentonite seal will hold until the well can be serviced or plugged.
1679370521 2015-04-29 Production Wells No Violations This inspection was done in response to Complaint # 5020. At the time of the inspection the well has 8 and 6 casings that were broken off just below grade. The well has filled with dirt/debris about 6 below the top of the casings with a small channel of water flowing from inside the 6. The water was fresh with a slight sulpher smell but no gas was detected and no oil was evident. A 12 diameter by 4 long plastic riser was placed over the well to attempt to slow the flow of water from the well until the well can be plugged and will be monitored by the DOGRM and the farmer. This well will be referred for review by the Orphan Well Program.
