The US Geological Survey (USGS), compiled and released data for wells in different states in the US and Canada. This was the first release of USGS oil and gas data on WellWiki and includes data reported from 1900 - 2014. We used two different datasets. The USGS Western States dataset was merged with data from Homeland Infrastructure Foundation-Level Data (HIFLD). Our data came from:
• USGS Williston Basin [1] - Records upto 2014-08-06
• USGS Western States [2] - Records upto 2008-06-06
Overall, this upgrade added data for 3 new states in the US and resulted in the generation of 73,034 new Well Pages; 5,367 new Operator Pages and 153 new County Pages. The team for this project consisted of Joel Gehman, Zhi Shen, and Georgio Cheruvelil.
