| 2785578 | Primary Facility | 2018-09-27 | Follow-up Inspection | No Viols - Permanently Shut Down | Visited site with P Wyrwas after initial inspection by J Branan on 9/25/18. This abandoned/orphan well is open 2 3/8" tubing at ground level. The tubing and surrounding ground (1+ foot radius around tubing) constantly vents a significant amount of gas that can be heard blowing out the tubing and bubbles vigorously through water that collects in the depression (dug to reveal tubing) around tubing. When drained, this depression refills with water from an unknown origin. The well is less than 5 feet from and slightly above a small stream, ~25 feet from First Street and 100-140 feet from nearby houses. Local residents commented that this well has been abandoned and flowing in a similar manner for decades. |
