Water Truck was present to remove rain/snow melt water already in pit. Permit showed possible open shaft. Anticipated depth is 4750 ft.
1941543 Primary Facility 2011-01-06 Drilling/Alteration No Violations Noted At the time of inspection, no E&S or IW issues at the site. Penn View contracted PC rig #1. Pit was covered with 20 mil plastic. No freeboard issues. Conductor (13 7/8¿) set at 37 ft. 1st stringer (9 5/8¿) set at 568 ft (open shaft at 520 ft to 528 ft). Amount of cement used was 200 sks of Class A. Sediment encountered was coal, shale, ss. Anticipated depth is 4750 ft.
1941921 Primary Facility 2011-01-11 Drilling/Alteration No Violations Noted At the time of inspection, no E&S or IW issues at the site. Surface casing (7¿) ran to 1519 ft. Cement used 150 sks applalite and 50 sks Class A. 11 bbl return on the surface casing. Current depth at 3030 ft. Anticipated depth is 4750 ft.
1943969 Primary Facility 2011-01-10 Routine/Complete Inspection No Violations Noted At the time of inspection, site properly signed with ES plan. Well actively being drilled, rig onsite. According to ES plan, operator plans to spread top hole water (pH 6-7, SPC <1, 000) over a vegetative area that will not directly discharge to waters of the commonwealth. Operator plans to encapsulation drill cuttings. ES controls installed and function according to plan (Brush grub/filter fence). Recommend that operator lower culvert pipe along access road and/or add additional rock to outlet to ensure proper drainage. One below grade pit onsite, operator should continue to closely monitor freeboard levels as well as ¿dust¿ that may arise from cuttings along sides of pit. Pit freeboard ok. Site snow covered. No accelerated Es observed during this inspection. Accompanied with WQS Marc Maestra.
1962154 Primary Facility 2011-03-29 Routine/Complete Inspection No Violations Noted At the time of inspection, well drilled and equipped for production. Well tag, sign and ES plan present. Well site has not yet been restored, but pits have been removed; according to ES plan cuttings were to be encapsulated onsite. No accelerated erosion or sedimentation issues observed onsite or access road, although operator should continue to maintain all temporary bmp¿s until permanent restoration activities are completed. Brine tank appears sound. Now IW issues noted.
