Oil went on the ground. The spill was approximately 50 gallons. Crews responded quickly and area was diked off before the oil could spread. It appears that all spillage was contained within the dike. The contaminated area was covered with absorptive material (Gator). Discussed options with operator representative Bryan Nelson and it was decided that the contaminated soil will be excavated and disposed of.

2262959 Primary Facility 2014-04-15 Administrative/File Review In Compliance with Policy SPILL.Admin inspt in response to reported release of 2 bbl brine into earthen dike from prod tank.Release reported to SWRO at 1615 on 4/14/14 by Opr rep Doug Byers.At time of call, leak contained and stopped.No waterways affected.Dept spoke to Mr. Byers via phone in response to this release.Mr. Byers stated that spill was discovered on 4/14/14 at approximately 1530.Pinhole leak in steel 210 bbl tank resulted in brine spraying out of tank into unlined earthen dike.At this time, hole has a temp patch, water has been vac'd out of dike and tank, and Opr is currently delineating area for excavation. Samples being collected and upon receipt, Opr will submit to Dept.Per the spill policy, Opr will be utilizing the attainment method of alternative remediation by remediating this release under the background or Statewide health standard.It appears Operator is handling situation according to policy and a follow-up inspection will be conducted in future to assess any environmental impacts of release and/or issue any associated violations as necessary.

Snow cover prevented proper evaluation of site stabilization. The well pad appears to be restored and permanently stabilized. The well is properly labeled and equipped for production. A site ID sign is posted and a well tag is present at the well head. The production fluid tank is located within secondary containment. There are no violations noted for this inspection.
