Release believed to have occurred sometime within last 3 weeks.Opr in process of sending a clean-up crew and roll-off boxes to site.Act 2 guidelines will be followed for clean-up.No waterways are reported to have been affected. Nearest stream is approx 500 ft from well.Mr. Canose reported conductivity readings taken to determine if stream affected resulted in 0 chlorides detected.Dept requested e-mail documenting events surrounding release.It appears Operator is handling situation according to policy and a follow-up inspection will be conducted in future to assess any environmental impacts of release and/or issue any associated violations as necessary.
2236260 Primary Facility 2014-01-15 Incident- Response to Accident or Event Violation(s) Noted On-site inspt as a follow-up to admin inspt (ID 2236245) for spill incident reported on 1/14/2014 in which approximately 12 bbl of brine was released from cracked brine tank.At time of inspection, brine tank disconnected from well, ready for removal from site. Roll-off boxes and excavation team not yet on-site. Well tag present, legible. According to records, drilling occurred 10/21/1985-10/26/1985.Access road stable. No accelerated erosion or sedimentation issues noted. Department recommends Operator monitor and maintain access road as increased traffic due to clean-up efforts could potentially result in an accelerated E&S pollution event.As Aultman's run is located approximately 500 feet and down-gradient from site of release, Department contacted Operator representative Jason Canose via phone following inspection to recommend that stream is sampled to ensure contaminants did not reach waters of the Commonwealth.
