At this time a petroleum product is dripping from the brine tank valve (photo #1-2). No dead/stressed vegetation is present at this time. Department contacted operator rep Mark Matuska by phone from site. Mr. Matuska stated a well tender will be sent to the site as soon as possible. Department recommends operator update Department after well tender visits site. UPDATE 12:13- Mr. Matuska contacted Department by phone. Mr. Matuska states well tender visited site and tightened packing on the valve. Mr. Matuska states leak has been stopped. Department recommends operator ensure all impacted soil is removed per current regulations. A violation is being issued for failure to collect brine or other fluids produced during the operation of a well. A follow up inspection will be conducted at a later date. |
