The well continues to be abandoned as noted in previous inspections. The ball valve on the well is cracked, although it does not appear to be leaking at this time. The Department spoke with the property owner in February 2018 about the reclamation of impacted soil and reclaiming the site. The property owner has been in contact with the operator to determine when site restoration was going to take place. The property owner has been willing to work with the operator in hopes the well will be placed into production by the current operator or a new operator. To date the site has not been restored and the waste removed (pit liner, 300 gallon tote, 55 gallon drum). According to Scott the site remains in unchanged.

It appears the plastic that soil was stock piled on was spread out with the soil. There are ripped up pieces of plastic mixed with the freshly spread soil. There continues to be mounded soil on-top of where the drill pit was located. Vegetation is fully established on the area of the pit. The area where soil was recently spread needs seeded and mulched.
Attempts were made to speak with the property owner about the restoration. Mainly if he is satisfied with the mound of soil located on the area of the pit. On the date of the inspection the property owner could not talk. To date 08/14/18 a complete discussion has not taken place. Violations are outstanding. |
