At the time of inspection, the well has an open ~8" casing, no wellhead. The casing is packed with debris inside at ground level. No gas was detected inside the casing above ground level or outside of the casing at ground level. The well is speculated to be a shallow well, drilled in the early 1900s for oil. The well has been granted orphan well status and has been placed on the DEP plugging list, although there are no obvious issues observed with this well at this point in time. |
