This inspection was prompted by a request for an inactive status extension by Rockdale Marcellus, which recently acquired the site. There were 2, 2" annular vent pipes at the well. One was open, the other shut-in, neither apparently labelled (see photo). At the open vent pipe, 35% methane was detected (Altair 5X gas meter calibrated on 4/9/18). Will contact Rockdale for a follow-up inspection. The result of this inspection is, pending, because the identity of the annular vent at which the methane was detected is currently not known. |

Met with Nathan Smelser, Rockdale production engineer. The 2" vent where methane was previously detected was identified as the 7" x 4-1/2". At this open vent pipe, 28% methane was detected (Altair 5X gas meter calibrated on 5/14/18). Nathan opened the previously shut-in annulus. No methane was detected. The cellar was water-filled, there was no bubbling. No violations were observed during this inspection. |
