In 1951, Keno Oils Limited commenced drilling of Keno No. 1. That same year, the well was reported by local media to be producing 430 barrels of oil daily.[1] It operated until 1968, when it was abandoned. Eventually, the well came to be owned by Legal Oil & Gas Ltd., which owned the well until its demise in bankruptcy in 2001.[2] The well site was eventually remediated, and its current status is listed as RecCertified.
