| Potential orphan well initial investigation: The purpose of this inspection is to locate the potential orphan well in the stream bed of  Campaign Creek. Upon inspection, it is observed that the well is still present in the stream and is leaking brine into the stream bed. The well consists of 5 diameter casing which is open to the atmosphere. A weighted line was lowered into the wellbore from a depth counting reel and indicated an open depth of 114. Records for this well indicate it was drilled in 1949 to a total depth of 343 feet and produced coalbed methane. Records also state that the 8 diameter casing and 6 diameter casing were pulled and 103 of 5 diameter casing was left in the well after it was sold to a new landowner. Brine flowing from the top of the casing was tested with a Hach Quantab chloride titration strip, which yielded a result of 6000+ ppm chlorides. The well is situated in the stream bed, which is deeply incised and has banks which are a 5-7 drop  to the stream bed on both sides. Photos were taken of the well and surrounding area.
