The release occurred at the tank battery which is 560 feet south of the well site. The fluid was able to travel outside the dike as a result of a cracked plug in the fresh water drain. The fluid was contained in a small area because of a natural depression at the release point just outside containment. Approximately 100 feet east of the release there is a tank battery for a conventional oil lease. It does not appear there is currently a production water discharge occurring but it is evident production water was previously discharged from the tanks. Alan Wolf (Range Resources) indicated a contractor would be onsite today to stabilize the site.
2780351 Primary Facility 2018-09-26 Follow-up Inspection Outstanding Violations - Viols Req'd Onsite for a follow up inspection. Excavation has occurred and he tank removed. The conductivity was checked in the small area that was excavated outside the containment. No elevated reading were received. Additional excavation is needed inside secondary containment.
