1913046 Primary Facility 2010-09-14 Routine/Complete Inspection No Violations Noted Drilling was ongoing at the time of the inspection. Below grade pit located onsite and it had more than the required two feet of lined freeboard. Noted that the culvert located under the drilling access road did not have any erosion controls at the culvert outlet. This outlet should have controls implemented so as to minimize the transport of sediment and carry the runoff water outside of the disturbed area for well development. It was also noted that the brush, trees, and stumps had been placed outside of the erosion controls. The brush area is part of the disturbed area and should be within the boundaries of the erosion controls. At this time the Department is requesting that the operator address the culvert outlet erosion control issue and that documentation or phone contact is made by the operator to WQS Higgins no later than 09/30/10 stating that the culvert outlet issue has been addressed.
