The well tender stated that on 5/27/10 he proceeded to blow the well down. While this was going on, he visited another site, which he does frequently. When he returned the tank was over topped with fluids. The fluids were retained within the diked area. The estimated amount was 5 barrels. On 5/28/10, when I inspected the site, the well tending company was dismantling the well and excavating the contaminated soil. The Department asks for all waste manifest, incident report and how much was discharged to be included in the response.
1923084 Primary Facility 2010-10-27 Compliance Evaluation Outstanding Violations - No Viols Req'd Site inspection was to evaluate outstanding brine spill violation initially reported on 5/27/10 and inspection conducted by Nick Staffieri on 5/28/10. Current site conditions show some type of waste remains on site beneath a tarp and anchored with tires. An excavated area remains to be revegetated. Operator is required to provide information concerning cleanup of the brine spill and comply with conditions of the previously issued violation in order to regain compliance. A copy of the original violation is enclosed.

The spill occurred when the brine tank overtopped when the well tender left the site when he was blowing down the well. % barreles of Brine was spilled into the containment. On 3/21/13 the ste was looked at. The site was restored correctely. No dead vegetation was noted withinthe containment.
