2302621 | Primary Facility | 2014-08-27 | Incident- Response to Accident or Event | In Compliance with Policy | Operator reported a brine spill of less than barrel. The Operator indicated that the spill was contained by a plastic lined earthen dike, however the riser pipe elbow was loose and brine was spilled to the ground. During the inspection the Department observed a cracked fiberglass brine tank located on site. The crack was in the bottom of the tank and appears to the sources of the spill. The Operator is in compliance with the departments most current spill policy. The Department suggests the Operator remove the impacted soil, sample and submit representative samples of the Brine spilled, impacted area and background samples to verify the successful remediation efforts. |
2335704 | Primary Facility | 2015-01-14 | Follow-up Inspection | No Violations Noted | At the time of inspection the Operator has removed the impacted soil from the 35 gallon spill reported to the Department on 8/28/2014. It appears that the brine tank has been repaired and the overflow pipe has been repaired. The Department also notes the impacted soil outside of the earthen dike has been replaced seeded and mulched. The Department suggests the operator continue to monitor the site until the seeded area has sufficient growth to prevent erosion. |
