2767967 | Primary Facility | 2018-08-28 | Routine/Partial Inspection | No Violations Noted | Met with operator on site to discuss concerns of H2S gas on the Day West lease. Several wells were sampled at both high and low elevations. Wells at high elevations were absent of H2S concentrations, whereas wells at low elevations seemed to be at high concentrations. To maintain consistency with Title 25 Chapter 78, 78.77(c), and to protect human health and the environment, methods of operation for the wells where H2S was discovered were discussed with operator. Operator agreed to leave wells shut in so as not to vent any gas to atmosphere that may present a hazard in the vicinity. Operator will notify the Department if the wells ever need service work and safety measures will be addressed before any work is performed. |
