1932929 Primary Facility 2010-12-08 Routine/Complete Inspection No Violations Noted Site id sign in place. E&S plan on site. Site not constructed or even timbered. Copy of permit on site. Spoke on site with operator representative Rich Reardon about the following: 1 Site id sign on site must show the correct permit number and farm name. 2 Project description in E&S plan states side slopes of pits will be 1:1 if soil conditions permit. Regs say the minimum allowable slope is 2:1. The reference to 1:1 slopes needs to be removed. 3 According to E&S plan the soil on this site has a depth to seasonal high water table of 12 inches. The regs require a minimum depth of 20 inches from the bottom of the pit to the SHWT. Due to this an excavated pit on this site would not be feasible. Please indicate how the fluids and cuttings will be contained at this site. 4 Due to the SHWT at 12 inches Please indicate how the drill cuttings will be disposed of. Both encapsulation and land application require a minimum of 20 inches to SHWT. Any changes that are to be made to your plans must be reflected in the E&S plan on site.
1947013 Primary Facility 2011-01-25 Routine/Complete Inspection No Violations Noted Site id sign in place. E&S plan on site. Perimeter of site is marked. Timber not yet removed. Site not yet constructed. Copy of permit has been posted on site. Inspection conducted with operator representative Rich Reardon and DEP Soil Scientist Bill Davis. Soil pit dug in vicinity of proposed drill pit to evaluate depth to seasonal high water table. Redoximorphic features found at a depth of 14 inches indicating the depth to SHWT is at 14 inches. Due to these results, dirll cuttings must be disposed of at an approved landfill. All pits must be a minimum of 20 inches from SHWT, which will require the use of above ground pits or tanks on this site. This was discussed on site with Mr. Reardon. All changes to the E&S plan in relation to the above findings must be ahown in the on site plan. Site ID sign on site must be changed to show the correct permit number and farm name.
