The well did not have rods hooked up. The well operator, Mike Byers, came onsite during inspection. He said the well needs cleaned out the the electricity to run the pump jack was knocked out. He plans to have it fixed. There was also a tank near the well. Production has not been reported since 2009. The well was not labeled. Please label the well and use DEP's Greenport site to electronically file production data.
Operator did state that he was going to buy a new, large tank for all of the wells to replace the current one. The wooden shed is being taken down and the tank will sit there and a dike will be built around it. This will get things away from the stream where the current tank is. Also plans to upgrade the bridge so a tri-axle can cross to collect oil instead of piping it across the stream and up to the main road. |
