The 1H well was in the production phase and the 2H is being prepared for plugging. Two poly/felt liner containments are in use by around the two well heads. The two corroided production tanks are still on site on site but are no longer being used for production (the lines are disconnected). A poly water buffalo tank was plumbed into the production waste line and placed within containment. The operator informed the DEP that the poly tank would be sufficient because the 1H does not produce a great deal of waste water. Margaret Farrell with Chief Oil and Gas was contacted by phone on 6/29/2016 and she will inform the DEP once the corroided production tanks are removed from the location. 2550095 | Primary Facility | 2017-01-06 | Plugging(Includes Plugged/Mined Through) | No Violations Noted | Inspection of the Jennings 2H Marcellus gas well in Bradford Twp. conducted January 6, 2017 at 10 am. I met with Jon Hafer from Chief on the pad and discussed the history of the well. It’s two string well drilled in 2010. The well was plugged but after noticing pressure after the job, they reentered, remediated, and set additional plugs. Purpose of today’s inspection is to evaluate the well and see if any further remediation is necessary. The first place we checked was a vent pipe for the backside of production casing (9 5/8” x 5 1/2”) annulus, and the same vent for the wellbore vent since the production csg is cut ~10’ below the head. I tied directly into the vent with a ½” pex fitting and hose tied directly into my Altair 5x gas meter. No gas was detected in any amount. I suspected the vent was frozen so to verify I loosened a hammer union on the well nightcap and placed meter inside the cap. There was no pressure, and the gas meter detected ~20% methane at first then quickly subsided. There was another ve |
2552085 | Primary Facility | 2017-01-12 | Plugging(Includes Plugged/Mined Through) | No Violations Noted | On January 12, 2017 at 12 pm I conducted an inspection of the Jennings 2H Marcellus gas well in Bradford Twp. conducted. The purpose of the inspection was to take opportunity of the unseasonably warm temperatures to follow up on last week’s inspection to verify my findings by eliminating the possibility of valves and vents on the wellhead being frozen. At time of inspection; it was 50 degrees with a steady rain. The 2H had night cap with a needle valve shut in with a bull plug, there was a 2” vent pipe off the backside of production casing open and venting, and there was a surface casing vent pipe plumbed to surface coming off the conductor cap that was open and venting. I removed the ½” bull plug off the nightcap needle valve, opened the needle valve, and threaded a ½” pipe nipple with a balloon attached on the ½” needle valve and waited 15 minutes. After 15 minutes the balloon was not at all inflated. I conducted the same test on the surface casing at the vent plumbed to surface from the conductor cap. Aft |
2560203 | Primary Facility | 2017-02-08 | Plugging(Includes Plugged/Mined Through) | No Violations Noted | Inspection of Chief’s Jennings 2H (015-20283) now plugged gas well in Burlington Twp., Bradford County conducted February 8, 2017 at 12 pm. At the time of inspection; the well is now topped off w/gravel, the cellar is filled with gravel, and there is a 2” candy cane vent monument with API #. There was no observable or audible flow from the vent and no smell of gas. I placed a 2” plastic cap with a 1/8” hole drilled where I hooked up rubber hose w/Altair 5x gas meter right up to the vent pipe and monitored for 1 minute. No gas in any amount was detected. The well meets the plugging requirements of 25 PA Code Ch. 78.91 and there were no violations noted during the inspection |

2650767 | Primary Facility | 2017-10-23 | Administrative/File Review | Violation(s) Noted | Administrative Inspection created for the purpose of entering an Enforcement Record for the Pension Road Gas Migration COA. The Department's investigation determined that the Jennings Unit 2H gas well impacted four private water supplies. The inspection date for this inspection record corresponds to the date that the Department sent positive water supply impact determination letters to the property owners on which the impacted water supplies are located. |
2682657 | Primary Facility | 2018-01-16 | Plugging(Includes Plugged/Mined Through) | No Violations Noted | Routine inspection of a plugged well. The 2H is plugged with a 2" candy cane vent as a monument. No obvious issues were observed. There is also a well in production on the pad; the 1H. I conducted a visual inspection of the well. There were no obvious issues. |
2683061 | Primary Facility | 2018-01-17 | Plugging(Includes Plugged/Mined Through) | No Violations Noted | Rig on location for P&A, currently rigging down after plugging ops. I spoke with the Companyman. Window cut in 9 5/8" csg from 520-540, underreamed to 12 1/4" original wellbore diameter. Packer was set at bottom of window, plugged back with cement to 420' yesterday. Pump chart and samples looked ok. The crew will rig down, top off well with gravel, install vent as a precaution considering low volume of venting behind the 9 5/8" and mark as a well monument. No obvious major issues observed. Wellbore diagram attached.

2770186 | Primary Facility | 2018-09-04 | Plugging(Includes Plugged/Mined Through) | No Violations Noted | A routine inspection of this plugged, unconventional well was conducted September 4, 2018. At the time of inspection, the well has a 2" candy cane vent pipe with marker plate installed as a plugged well monument. There were no open holes or discharges observed. There was no audible or visible venting observed at the vent. No obvious concerns or issues were observed at this time. |
