0008879416 2002-05-23 Production Wells No Violations CASE 02-021 Received a complaint from Mr. Ray Ewing, 1787 Eastern Road, Barberton, Ohio (330-753-2205 or 330-388-8336) re an ongoing gas leak problem. A natural gas odor was noticeable along the road. There are two operators with gas sales lines in the area, in addition to Dominion East Ohio Gas. Belden and Blake has a gas line on the south side of Eastern Road and Equity Oil and Gas has a sales line on the north side of the road. Contacted Chuck Baker with Equity (330-243-1675) and was informed that a portion of their pipeline has been replaced with plastic due to age deterioration of the steel. He felt that the leak was probably Equitys problem and would investigate. Belden & Blake will be contacted if problem persists after Equity is done. Mr. Ewing was also concerned about the possible long term environmental impact attributable to the gas leak. The operation of the gathering system was explained with an emphasis on the removal of fluids at the tank battery, which would prevent any long term impact associated with oil and/or brine and the gas sales line.

This follow-up inspection did not detect any gas odor along this section of Eastern Road nor has there been any further communication from the complaintant, Mr. Ray Ewing (330-753-2205). No violations at this time.
