0796879591 2012-10-20 Drill / Deepen / Reopen No Violations I inspected the drilling operations at the Strouble 4 (34151257850000) site on October 20, 2012. The drilling contractor for this well is PEP Drilling Inc., rig number 10. The access road is in good condition and graveled to the well site. The working pit and blow pit are located to the north of the wellhead; soil berms are being utilized to isolate the pits. The working pit has 8 feet of free board and the blow pit has 10 feet of free board. The pits are cordoned off with safety fencing. A portion of the blow pit caved in causing the liner to rip. No fluid escaped from the blow pit. PEP is installing a new liner for the blow pit before drilling operations continue. At the time of my inspection, PEP had drilled an 11 inch borehole to a depth of 906 feet and was setting 8.625 inch surface casing and cementing to surface. The blow out preventer is not in place. The air body and blow line were in place and PEP drilled the borehole on fresh water and air (aerating). Jeff is the driller on duty. A copy of the permit is located in the dog house.
