0640243705 2015-04-17 UrbanProduction Wells No Violations I inspected this well at the request of the City of Akron Water Department for any compliance issues. This well is operating with the aid of a concoil lift system. The proper ID is posted at the wellhead and the tank battery. The well is fenced but the man door is broken and not functional. The well is currently producing and it is apparent that oil has leaked out of the top of the concoil unit. The unit has oil staining on the east side of the catcher and an area 4 X 6 around the wellhead has been covered with Peatsorb to soak up the release. I spoke with Kyle Ahbel (Enervest) and notified him that the affected area and wellhead need to be cleaned up as soon as possible and that the contaminated peat and soil needs to be scraped up and properly disposed. I inspected the tank battery a found that it is fenced, locked, and properly diked. The battery contains 1-100 barrel tank, a 50 barrel steel tank, and a horizontal separator. I found small patches of oil staining below both pick-up line valves at each tank that has occurred incidental to fluid hauling operations. The affected areas are less than a foot in diameter and are not causing pollution or contamination. I will ask Enervest to clean these areas and require that their water/oil haulers use pads during hauling operations and remove the pads after the pick-up of fluids. I will check back on clean-up of the wellhead next week.
