0139378782 2009-03-19 Production Wells No Violations Status check inspection found that the well is still in operation and provides gas to the township hall and garage. The township has been contacted about assuming ownership of the well since Pin Oak Petroleum no longer exists. To date, nothing has changed.
0396589900 2017-01-13 Production Wells No Violations I inspected this Clinton Sandstone well due to the ownership status of Pin Oak Petroleum Inc. being listed as a cancelled owner. My inspection found the wellhead and tank battery are one (1) fenced unit and the access gate is locked. The wellhead is equipped with an electric-powered pumping unit and gauges indicate 235psi on the production tubing and 140psi on the 4.5 production casing. There is a domestic tap for the Nelson Township garage on the 4.5 casing flow line plumbed with a regulator and a drip bottle. A gauge indicates the domestic gas is being supplied at a pressure of 26psi. Fluids from the well are produced to a diked tank battery containing one (1) 100 barrel tank. There is no separating equipment on location. The posted ID lists no owner or emergency contact number. Note: Inspector Worstalls inspection reports from 2005, 2006, and 2009 indicate the well has been used and maintained by Nelson Township to heat the Township garage on this location. I spoke with Road Maintenance Supervisor, Chuck Vanek, and he confirmed that the Township is maintaining the well and using the gas to heat the garage. I explained to him the purpose of my inspection and asked if the Township would have any interest in taking ownership of the well. I told him the well would likely end up in the Orphan Well Program, if no responsible owner could be assigned to the well, and would be plugged and abandoned at the discretion of the Orphan Well Program. Chuck directed me to attend the Township Trustees meeting at 7:00pm on January 18, 2017 and bring this matter to their attention. I will attend the meeting on Wednesday and speak with the Trustees.
0655865843 2005-04-01 Production Wells No Violations Sherry Young requested a status check of this well. Pin Oak no longer exists and records indicated that the well may have been plugged in the mid 1980s. In fact, the well is still there and property is now owned by Nelson Township which uses gas from the well to heat their garage. I will provide the township with the forms to transfer ownership and notify Sherry that the well is still there.

2011576882 2006-02-01 Production Wells No Violations Nelson Township has not provided the necessary paperwork to transfer this well to their ownership. They are 1) using the well to heat the township garage, 2) maintaining the well and 3) have ID on the well with township phone numbers. I will contact the township clerk for a status report.
