0924626769 2014-05-21 UrbanProduction Wells No Violations I was on location to follow-up on a sales line leak related to this well that occurred yesterday. The impacted area in the wetlands has been cleaned up. The sales line has been fixed and the contaminated soil has been removed. This issue has been resolved.
1413556953 2014-05-20 UrbanProduction Wells No Violations I received a call from a landowner at 2:15pm about an oil and gas leak behind his property. There were three Petrox Wells in the vicinity and I contacted the company to respond. I arrived on location and Derek Bryant ( Pettigrew Pumping Services) was on location. The sales line for permit #s 1626, 2107, and 2242 had ruptured in a low quality wetland near Eckert Ditch. Residual oil in the sales line (less than 1/2 a barrel) had impacted an area approximately 20 in diameter around the leak. Methane gas in the sales line was blowing up through the mud above the leak. I asked Derek to shut-in the wells and shut down the compressor pressurizing the line so the leak could be fixed. I instructed Petrox to report the spill to the Ohio EPA and I called Kurt Kollar (OEPA) to respond. No oil migrated from the wetland or into the ditch. Kurt arrived on location and instructed Derek on the clean-up. W Pol Excavating responded with equipment to dig out the affected soil and haul it to an approved landfill. I left location at 6:00pm and will follow-up tomorrow. I did not inspect the well(s) at this time.
