0609982683 2015-04-13 UrbanProduction Wells No Violations I received a call from the landowner, Don Nething, about a flow line leak at this well on Sunday, April 12th at 5:00pm. He told me the flow line had leaked less than a barrel of oil in his cornfield in the same area that leaked in April of 2013. He told me he shut the well in and that it should be fine until tomorrow. I contacted Kyle Ahbel (Enervest) and told him of the situation and that I will meet him first thing in the morning to determine what needs to be done to clean up the leak. I met with Kyle this morning and Scott Miller Contracting. I had them scrape the affected area and stockpile the contaminated soil inside a berm. I instructed them to saturate the oil and water inside the berm with Peatsorb to lock up the oil until it is hauled away. The contractor was currently getting a load of topsoil to replace the contaminated soil. Kyle told me they were also going to bring in a load of stone to repair the holes in the lease road. The affected area was 10 x 10 and contained 1 gallon of oil. They will repair the line and haul the affected materials to an approved landfill.
0914835719 2013-04-04 UrbanProduction Wells No Violations I received a phone call from Don Nething (landowner) on 04/03/2013 about a leaking flow line at this well. I called Kyle Ahbel to notify him of the leak and he said he would get someone over there to check on it. I went to the location the following day and found the leak had been fixed. I could see no signs of oil on the ground around the disturbed area. The well is operating on a plunger lift system and is located a 1/4 mile northeast of the tank battery. The tank battery appears to be in use by 3 different wells. The Enervest equipment consisted of a 100 barrel tank, a brine vault, and a horizontal seperator. The area was diked and fenced, but the fence was in disrepair and leaning over in some areas. The IDs were up but tough to discern. I talked to Kyle again and told him to have his pumper clearly mark all of Enervests equipment. No violations.
