1070437186 | 2013-05-30 | Production Wells | Violations Noted | I was contacted by the landowner (Elsie Sayer) inquiring about the status of this well. A records check indicates that there has been no commercial production from this well since 1997. I inspected the wellhead with the landowners and found that the pumping unit, rods, and tubing had been removed from the well. The landowners stated that this was done years ago and the well has been sitting idle since. The tank battery was fenced and becoming overgrown with brush. The battery contained a 210 barrel stock tank, a vertical separator, and a meter run with no functioning meter. I e-mailed Enervest on 05/16/13 as to the status of the well and Woody McDaniel said he would look into it for me. As of the issuance date of this notice, I have not heard back from Enervest pertaining to the future plans for this well. This well is idle and needs to be placed back into production or properly plugged and abandoned. |
1258092352 | 2015-11-02 | Final Restoration | No Violations | I was on location to check the status of Final Restoration for this plugged and abandoned, Clinton Sandstone well. My inspection found the wellhead area graded. There was quite a bit of stone spread through the topsoil that supported the removed pumping unit. The former tank battery, located 0.4 miles east of the wellhead has been dismantled and removed. The area has been graded and there are trees and grass growing in the affected area. The lease road is being used as access to the agricultural fields by the landowner. I will need a landowner waiver for the flow line and lease road prior to approving final restoration. I will speak with Enervest about the requirements. No violations. |
1416319800 | 2014-06-03 | Plug / Plug Back | No Violations | I was on location to continue the plugging of this well to satisfy Compliance Notice #1070437186. J Well ran in the hole with the knife tool and could not get back to 2580. Drilling mud had filled the casing through the hole they made previous day to approximately 2400. They found a collar at 2346 and ripped the pipe. (*Note: It was discovered at the end of the job that the pipe came apart at the original rip depth of 2580 and J Well had made a hole at the top of the casing at 2340 which all cement was circulated through). 1 joint of 4.5 casing was pulled to 2306 and Petroset rigged up and established circulation. They then mixed and pumped 18 barrels of cement slurry and displaced the slurry to 2040 with 32 barrels of water. J Well pulled 40 joints of casing and Petroset rigged up and began circulating the hole. They mixed and pumped 12 barrels of cement slurry and displaced the slurry to 253 with 4 barrels of freshwater. J Well pulled 5 more joints to 200 and Petroset rigged up and broke circulation. They mixed and pumped cement until good returns circulated to the surface (19 barrels). J Well pulled 5 joints and a hole was found below the top of the collar on the 6th joint. The remaining 6 joints were packed with thick, gas-cut, drilling mud that was flowing from the pipe after breaking each connection. The pipe had come apart at the original rip depth and filled with mud. Cement was circulated through the hole at the calculated rip depth and the plugs are where they need to be. The cement held at the top of the hole. This violation is closed. I will check for Final Restoration at a later date. |
1885522046 | 2014-06-02 | Plug / Plug Back | No Violations | I was on location to witness the setting of the bottom plug in this well and satisfy Compliance Notice #1070437186. KDA Contracting, Petroset Cementing, and J-Well were on location to conduct operations. 1.5 tubing was spotted at 4041 and 30 sacks (7 barrels) of cement slurry was mixed, pumped, and displaced to 3767 with 10 barrels of water. J-Well pulled the tubing and attempted to rip the pipe at 2580 and recovered a piece of casing collar. Operations will resume tomorrow. |
