1516120178 | 2018-01-16 | Field Inspected, Well Not Found | No Violations | Status check inspection at the request of the Columbus Office to determine if this well, which is listed as producing, still exists or was plugged and abandoned. A plugging permit was issued to Energy Development Corporation on 7/13/1983 and expired on 1/9/1984. I reviewed historical imagery on the Portage County Auditors website to aid in determining the location of the well prior to conducting the inspection. During my inspection today, I searched the entire clearing where the wellhead would have been located (100 X 100) and around the GPS location of the wellhead. My inspection found no evidence of a wellhead or ancillary production equipment on this location. I found a 2 riser pipe, 6 long, extending above ground level and could be the old flow line riser or a well marker (see GPS coordinates). No wellhead was found during my inspection. |
1813760179 | 2018-01-16 | Final Restoration | No Violations | I conducted a status check inspection for Final Restoration of this former Clinton Sandstone well. A plugging permit was issued to Energy Development Corporation (EDC) on 7/13/1983 and expired on 1/9/1984. No plugging report was ever submitted by EDC and the well was transferred to EXCO-North Coast on 7/21/2008. I reviewed historical imagery on the Portage County Auditors website to aid in determining the location of the well and surface equipment prior to conducting the inspection. The aerials indicate that the tank battery was located on the south side of Pioneer Trail and likely shared with the Mildred Auth #3 (PN#20577) which was located on that parcel and plugged and abandoned on 7/25/1986. The aerials clearly indicate that the tank battery was removed between the years of 1985 and 1990. During my inspection today, I searched the entire clearing where the wellhead would have been located (100 X 100) and around the GPS location of the wellhead. My inspection found no evidence of a wellhead or any ancillary production equipment on this location. I found a 2 riser pipe, 6 long, extending above ground level and could be the old flow line riser or a well marker (see GPS coordinates). There is no debris on location and vegetation is well established in the clearing and along the former lease road. A culvert at the lease road entrance may have been removed as there is an impassable ditch now located in this area and access was gained 250 to the east and into the agricultural field. I investigated the area of the former tank battery which would have been located on the west side of what is now a residential driveway at address #3148. I found no evidence of the battery, piping, or ancillary equipment. The area is graded and part of the front yard of the residence. There is a pipeline riser and master meter located along the east side of the driveway that is owned by Enervest Operating. Based on my research and findings during my inspection, Final Restora |
