0286885216 | 2016-10-25 | Plug / Plug Back | No Violations | On the day of inspection I met with Tom Smith a surveyor for ODNR Oil and Gas. The well was recently plugged and there is a sand and gravel operation heading toward the plugged well. We will stop back at a later date. |
0373904520 | 2016-09-27 | Plug / Plug Back | No Violations | On the day of my inspection Phil Moran washed 3 tons of clay down the 5.5 inch casing. Phil ran his ripping tools in to a depth of 3200 feet to start looking for a telegraph. He was only able to get 12 to 15 inches of stretch. He was unsuccessful at finding a telegraph as he came up the hole. Phil stopped and ripped on the casing at 2500 feet without telegraph, but he could not pull the casing. Phil continued to come up the hole searching for a telegraph, finally getting one at 1400 feet. Phil pulled the tools out and washed another 5 tons of clay down the 5.5 inch casing for a total of 8 tons on the bottom plug. He shut down to let the clay settle overnight before going in to part the casing. |
0820416157 | 2016-09-28 | Plug / Plug Back | No Violations | On the day of my inspection Phil Moran went back in to 1400 feet and parted the 5.5 inch casing. The crew pulled the casing from the well. Phil set a pre-cast tapered cement plug on the 7 inch casing seat at a depth of 926 feet. He made several attempts to pull the 8.625 inch casing. The 8.625 inch casing was cut off at ground level with the 10 inch casing. Phil used a spear go inside of the casing to pull. The casing would not budge at 45,000 to 50,000 pounds of pull. Phil disengaged the spear to investigate the possibility of the two casing strings being welded. They dug out around the 10 inch and cleaned the top of the two strings. We found the top of the 8.625 inch casing was rotted and tearing apart. The annular space was filled with sand and rust fragments. Phil went in with his ripper to search for a telegraph. He got a telegraph at 105 feet, and ripped on the casing for some time until he shut down due to weather. The tools came out dry. |
0863327426 | 2016-09-30 | Plug / Plug Back | No Violations | On the day of my inspection I met with Phil Moran at the site to discuss the plan for the 8.625 inch casing. The top of the casing was too deteriorated to weld a sub to, or try to continue pulling with a spear. The top of the fluid was at an approximate depth of 400 feet, indicating good casing integrity, and mud job downhole. I discussed the situation with Muskingum County inspector Pat Shreve, and we agreed to allow Phil to leave the casing in place. Another factor in the decision was that a surface mining operation was scheduled to be at the well within two months. The well casing will eventually be cut off at 60 to 65 feet below grade; therefore, it would be pointless to spend an excessive amount of time trying to remove the top joint of casing. Phil rigged down and washed approximately 6 tons of clay down the well filling it to surface from the pre-cast plug at 926 feet. The clay was settling down the hole slowly. We decided to allow the clay to settle over the weekend, before washing any more in. Phil covered his clay with a tarp and covered the open casing. |
1406137642 | 2014-07-23 | Production Wells | No Violations | Well is a producing well that was set up as an old gas plunger lift well. The well is currently shut in because Gatherco has shut them in. The water content is too high for the Dominion line. They will get with Gatherco and get scrubber installed and get well on line. There is a steel 100 barrel tank and a meter run. The company is current with their production records. The company will re attach an identification at well head. |
1475011251 | 2016-09-26 | Plug / Plug Back | No Violations | On the day of my inspection I found that Phil Moran was rigged up to plug the well, and pulling the tubing. The clay had just been delivered. They got 20.8 tons from Logan Clay. It started to rain, so Phil covered the clay and shut down for the day . |
1475512441 | 2016-10-03 | Plug / Plug Back | No Violations | On the day of my inspection I found that Phil Moran was not working at the plug job site. He said that he would be back the following day to finish up. The clay had fallen over the weekend to a depth that was out of visibility from the surface. I dropped a rock down the casing and found the top of the clay/fluid to be at an approximate depth of 200 feet. |
1475593125 | 2016-10-04 | Plug / Plug Back | No Violations | On the day of my inspection I found that the clay top was still at an approximate depth of 200 feet. Phil got another 3 to 4 tons of clay in, filling the well to surface. We let it set while they finished digging out around the casing, and the clay did not fall any further. Phil cut the casing off 36 inches below grade and capped the casing with a steel plate inscribed with the permit number. He then covered the casing up and filled in the excavated area. |
2077052623 | 2014-07-23 | Production Wells | No Violations | On the date of inspection I accompanied ODNR Inspector Patrick Shreve to check the status of the well. The well was shut in at the time of inspection. Refer to Patrick Shreves report for further details. |
