Plugging will be done under the drilling permit (per Steve Opritza). Plugging plan discussed with and approved by Bob Worstall prior to plugging. Hagen Well Service was on-site and finishing rigging up. Pulled rods and tubing. Removed mud anchor. Ran back in the hole with tubing to bottom. Waited on S&H and Petroset. Paul Hesse with Petroset brought out new steel tank to circulate into. Rigged up S&H and Petroset. Began pumping freshwater downhole to circulate out any oil in the hole. Continued circulating until all oil has been circulated out of the hole and only freshwater is coming back. Set first plug through tubing 400-200. Pulled tubing up to 200, broke circulation with freshwater, then set second plug from 200 to surface. Pulled out remaining tubing - top of cement stayed at ground level. Rigged down and moved out Hagen Well Service and Petroset. Brine leak will be clean-up as tank battery is deconstructed.

Water in the ditch below the tank battery tested at 8.8 to 9 on the high range test strip. There has been heavy rain in the last week. No leaks were apparent. The well is shut in and valves are locked. No water is standing in the tank battery. Other dikes in the area are holding rainwater.

Several large pieces of fence post were retrieved from the well over the evening, as well as pieces of a leather shoe. As progress it very slow-going, the decision was made to trip out of the hole to pick up an additional collar for weight. Then they will run back in the hole and get back to drilling.
0659340754 2015-06-04 Production Wells Violations Noted Inspected production well at the request of the operator, Kevin Strickland with Alta Oil and Gas, to check for possible activity onsite (due to reports of noise coming from the location over the previous weekend). The tank battery consists of 1-210 bbl steel tank, 3-square plastic totes, and 1-horizontal separator located within an earthen dike. Well identification is posted at the tank battery, but it is incomplete and needs corrected. The well is equipped with a pump jack with a hitmiss motor. While walking from the well towards the tank battery, an area of red-stained water, soil, and stone and distressed vegetation was noted downslope of the tank battery, extending approximately 100 downslope. Water was tested with both low and high range Quantabs. The fluid maxed-out the low-range Quantab; the high-range Quantab showed 7.4-7.6, which indicates a salt concentration of 4140-4523 ppm. Kevin Strickland with Alta Oil and Gas, was notified of the issue and notified that the well is not in compliance, as its operation is causing pollution and/or contamination. Clean-up of the location will be monitored until the situation has been resolved.

Alta wants to re-open an old well on the property. The well consists of ~10 drive pipe sticking up approximately 3 1/2 above ground level. Fluid level is ~8 downhole. Gas can be seen bubbling up through the fluid, and the odor of oil was present. Confirmed that location would be considered urban, and thus subject to urban drilling requirements. Advised Mr. Strickland to contact soil and water regarding crossing of small stream on property with lease road.

1127041277 2014-12-16 Drill / Deepen / Reopen No Violations The operator hit a steel obstruction below the new 7 inch casing. They have been unable to drill through it. The rig operator doesnt believe its casing as they were unable to get tools inside of it. The operator bailed water from the well to run a camera to see the obstruction. As water was bailed, the well began to vent gas. The well was shut in and plumbed into a tank to blow down. The well pressured up to 80 psi. When the well was blown down, oil was pushed into the tank. The well then continued venting gas. The operator was going to attempt to kill the well. They would like to set up a pump above the obstruction and place the well in production as is. They were advised that they were going to have to clean out the well to total depth or attempt to have their permit revised.
1236570513 2015-04-27 Production Wells No Violations Visited location on 04/27/2015 to see if well identification has been posted yet. No well identification is posted at the tank battery or wellhead. Silt fencing along lease road has mostly fallen over. Spoke to Mr. Strickland (Alta Oil and Gas) regarding both issues, which he will have addressed promptly. No other problems were noted at the time of the inspection.
1348115179 2015-06-10 Production Wells No Violations The operator was on site to determine what was needed to clean up spilled brine. Brine was laying in a ditch below the tank battery along the lease road. Standing water in the ditch and in the sump at the end of the ditch measured approximately 6400ppm chloride at 3 places. Water was checked at the tank battery dike, halfway down the ditch upstream of the lateral and at the sump at the end of the ditch. No water was present below the sump. Values indicated were 8.8 to 9.2 on the high range Quantab test strips. The operator believes his tank valves were tampered with. He plans to install locks on the tank valves. The 210 Bbl tank has been emptied and the well is shut in. There was a seep below the dike on the south side of it. Hand digging revealed an old clay tile running under the middle of the tank battery. The tile was blocked by mud but was trickling water. The operator is going to excavate the drain tile and pack the trench with clay up into the tank battery. He stated he would contact the Division prior to working on it. The tile above the tank battery is going to be routed around the dike with the discharge exposed for sampling. The fluid in the ditch is going to be flushed to the sump with fresh water and fluid will be vacuumed out of the sump by S&H Oilfield Service.

Silt fencing had been installed along the lease road, and the pit had been dug, lined, and fenced. Due to previous vandalism issues at the location, a call was made to the local police advising them of the operations onsite and requesting a presence in the neighborhood.
