Columbia gas was called to check for a gas leak at this residence and discovered an old domestic gas well in front yard of residence. Two areas of dead vegetation in yard between well and home. Columbia shut the valve on domestic well and gas has dissipated. 0% lels in yard. Domestic well is not bonded with the DMRM. Sent a letter to Mr. Stubenhoffer advising him to repair leak and bond well or have well plugged at his expense. From my inspection gas is leaking thru line suppling gas from well to home. Columbia Gas shut his service off in 2005 due to the gas from an abandoned well in yard between foundation and Columbias service line. My recommendation is well be plugged with I&O Emergency funding. I called Ron Gibson and Rick Judge to give bids for plugging the well. Sun, 70 degrees. |
